A booking can be either active or cancelled.
When a booking is active, its travelers occupy spots in the trip if these were limited.
When a booking is cancelled and moves to the Cancelled status, the occupied spots are released and the travelers receive a confirmation email of the booking cancellation.
Payment Status of a Booking
The payment status of a booking is calculated based on the status of its payment links. This status is visible both in the booking list of a trip:

The following table shows the possible payment statuses of a booking:
Status | Description | When it Applies |
No payment required | No payments have been made, and there are no pending payments. | Trips with bookings that only collect information (without online payment enabled). |
Outstanding | There are payment links that have not been paid yet. |

Paid | All payments associated with the booking have been completed. | All trips with online payment enabled. |
Refunded | All payments associated with the booking have been refunded. | All trips with online payment enabled. |
Up to date | All payments are up to date. | Trips with installment payments. |
Overdue | There are overdue payments. | Trips with installment payments. |
Status of Payment Links
For a booking with full payment
Below are the statuses of the payment link generated for a booking with full payment:
Status | Description |
Pending | The booking has been completed with external payment and the buyer has not yet paid. |
Paid | The amount has been paid. |
Refunded | The amount has been refunded. |
Cancelled | The booking was not paid and has been cancelled. |
For a booking with installment payments
In the following table, the statuses of a payment link for a booking with installment payments are described:
Status | Description |
Pending | This status only applies for the first installment when payment hasn’t been made during the booking process (for example, with external payment option). |
Scheduled | Scheduled to be charged on a future date. At the time of booking creation, all payment links associated with installments except the first will have this status. |
Paid | The buyer has paid the corresponding amount. |
Failed | A charge attempt has been made and failed. |
Overdue | It hasn’t been paid and the payment date has passed. |
Refunded | The amount has been refunded. |
Cancelled | It hadn’t been paid yet and the associated booking has been cancelled. |
